Yes, I did try openining iTunes from an account that I keep strictly for troubleshooting and it was the same problem. The iBook version of iTunes was 7.2 , but while doing the install on the G5 I updated to 7.3.2 (on the G5 not the iBook/external). While I was importing my library, I received an alert (I think) that older versions would not be able to still read the libray did I want to import anyway and I said yes. I only deleted itunes, V 7.3.2 and reinstalled, deleted again tried going back to 7.2 and stopped there. The install to the G5 was already a clean install, not an archive and install. The previous owner had documents stashed in stange places that she didn't get rid of so I had to start at square one. I have not tried deleting my user folder and can do that, but since it is the same problem in a different account, I'm not sure it will help. At the top of the Library window where it has 3 smaller windows for browsing (genre, etc) there are no scroll bars and to the right of the window(s) it looks like "bleedover" from the next small window, in other words partial words. There are no scroll bars in the main music window at the bottom, but I can use the up/down arrows to scan. I downloaded EasyFind and will try running that I had issues with Sherlock after the install, so maybe this will be better. Thanks again from a very frustrated old lady. Judi V
