[X4U] same computer, different speeds

My wife and I share my 1 Ghz G4. She has been complaining about  
Safari being very slow opening web pages. I quit all her  
applications, but that didn't seem to help. When I switched over to  
my account and tried the same pages, they opened much faster. What  
can I do to speed her side up? Why would one account be so much  
slower than the other?
