[X4U] Mail Downloads folder

Hi all,

Still cleaning out my HD. There's a folder called "Mail Downloads" in  
my User's Library folder. I've figured out that anytime I open an  
attachment in Mail without first saving it somewhere, it  
automatically gets saved to this folder. Does this folder keep  
growing until I manually delete the items? Or do they somehow get  
deleted automatically at some point?
