hi (again)

my two macs are connected to the internet via airport. sometimes,  
while working on the imac, i need to access (big) files that are on  
the laptop, so i connect them via gigabit ethernet. but in this way  
file sharing still goes through airport which is much slower.

is there anyway to "force" file sharing to use ethernet without  
having to turn off airport?
