[X4U] Address Book

This morning all the contacts in my address book have completely  
disappeared.  I ran the update on iChat yesterday.  Even the help  
file won't work in Address Book.  I have .mac, but that won't sync  
the info into the book either.  Is it dead?  Need to reinstall?   
Dumped preference panes.
