This is all part of the digital rights > management. Actually, Apple does support the moving of purchased/protected music files from iPod to authorized computer. That functionality was added in one of the later versions of iTunes. But if you need to move non-DRM songs off your iPod you'll need a 3rd-party application or to use the Terminal. -- Eddie Hargreaves
