Indeed. As you observe in your other post, however, "should" appears to be the operative word in this sentence of your reply. This explanation is the only one that immediately makes sense to me, however, when I consider the symptom that it runs even faster on another PC. Apparently the Philosopher's Stone game was originally published in 2001 - I think a Pentium 3 500mhz or Duron 850mhz would be approximately contemporary with this & such a PC could be picked up for as little a tenner secondhand, or even for nothing on your local Freecycle. A larger budget would suggest $120 for a PS2 & rebuying the games for that platform on eBay. Stroller.
