Hiya Jesse, In my case (MBPro 4GB) the Apple RAM was going to cost me nearly double the price. In the end I went with 2 X 2 GB Kingston chips and I have 2 X 1GB chips left over. I'll either keep them as backup or sell them on ebay. I'd go the third-party RAM - as long as it's reputable RAM!
