On the last MacBook I bought about 2 weeks ago, that Apple Store had the 2.2 gig Black model with 2 gig of RAM so that was no problem, it can go up to 4 gig now, though. With my previous MacBook, it came with 512 and I forget what they wanted for a 512 module at the Store but I opted to buy from Other World Computing and got 2 gig for about what Apple wanted for the 512. Well, close, I think I paid just a bit more. Replacing the RAM was EASY! But yes, then you have these extra RAM sticks that nobody wants (I'm wrong, it came with 1 gig--I just looked the the 2 512's are still sitting there). Anyway, it all evens out. RAM from OWC or Crucial is CHEAPER but just as good as what Apple Sells. I especially found that out with my Mac Pro. First I brought it up to 4 Gig (total of 8 512's) then I brought it up to 8 gig (where it is now) with 8 1 gig sticks from Crucial. It runs perfectly. True, nobody wants the 512's but at least you 'sort of' save a bit of money. Tim
