[X4U] Tiger install tricks?

Hello again,

We're trying to install Tiger on an older model Powermac, which does not
have a DVD drive. Our external firewire dvd drive broke, so I was wondering
if there are any other tricks for getting this done.

For example, would it be possible to somehow mount the DVD drive of another
Mac to show up on the target Mac, and run the installer that way?

Alternately, we DO have an external firewire harddrive. Is there any way to
get the installer files to work from that drive? I think that's how the guys
at the genius bar do it.

Any advice you guys have would be great.
