[X4U] Making a DVD copy-CSS protection

OK, since the courts have said it's OK for someone to have their own  
personal copy of a commercial CD or DVD, how do I go about copying it?

Toast 7 & 8 won't let me make a copy when the movie DVD has the CSS  
copy protection scheme. Toast 6 will let me make a copy since it  
doesn't notice the CSS protection, but then the copy won't play in  
DVD Player because it doesn't have the CSS copy protection plan on  
the disc...

Can anyone help?
