Strong longing. Desire, want to have. "I'm jonesing for those jeans" = I'm
having some serious thoughts about driving three hours back to that mall to
buy that pair of jeans. The root of "jonesing" or " having a serious jones"
is "Keeping up with the Joneses", which is typically reserved for bigger
ticket items you just MUST have, though lately I've heard it used for food
cravings too.
