[X4U] iphotos all gone

I went to upload a photo and there is no library.  I'm being asked to 
create or find it.  My wife has some of the photos on here account.  We 
have others on her laptop.  The library appears also to be missing from 
my backup disk too. 

What could have caused this and is there a know bug that can delete the 
majority of the photos that you have of your children?  I keep hoping 
they are just hiding someone but no luck locating them so far.

This is incredibly depressing.
