(There is a copy on the disk of whatever version was current when the CD was burned if you have no connection). The step from that to just skipping the disk entirely seems small. And one would think anyone buying an Air would have broadband at home. How many people when they buy a new printer for instance load the driver from the enclosed CD? I just automatically go to the manufactures web site and get the latest software and drivers. The other question would be if you are traveling and need to reinstall software, who brings the disks with them?
