Hello, I have some text files that I suspect are Macwrite II files (circa 1993) from an OS9 system. They have been copied again and again as I migrated from OS9 to OSX (Jaguar) on a PPC tower (silver door) and then to Panther on a PPC iMac and then to Tiger on the same PPC iMac. Ultimately to a Mactel Leopard iMac. The files are listed in the finder but the icon is missing on the Tiger PPC and the Leopard Mactel. Any commercial systems that will convert or ingest a Macwrite II file and then upchuck [output, spit out, disgorge, present on a platter,...] a usable RTF file or maybe a Word file. I just noticed the files when I was cleaning duplicates off the internal hard drive. I wound up at work before I could test Office or contact the Nisus Express people to ask about their product. So, I figured that I could get some advice while I'm at home testing various recovery strategies. Free, no hassle, work miracles and put the commercial apps to shame type of apps are also acceptable along with peace on earth. John F. Richardson
