[X4U] Problems with RAR archives

Hello to the list,

I DL a program composed of two RAR archives (.part1 and .part2). Big  
problems here. Text Edit is then the default app to open the archive  
but of course it doesn't. I DL StufIt Expander and UnRarX apps and  
either cannot join the archives and decompress it. UnRarX says "files  
are not RAR archives" and StufIt just does nothing. I don't know what  
to do. Is there someone here that can shed some light and maybe give  
me a good direction.
