[X4U] OSX laptop requirements for youtube, video

I'm looking into buying an older iBook...my wife says she just needs  
basic email and web browsing, but when i really question her, it  
sounds like she likes to check out youtube videos or stuff from Hulu.com

Does anyone have an insight into the minimum requirements for a laptop  
to have a reasonable experience with these things?

For example, is a G3 500 mhz sufficient ? It's been a long time since  
I upgraded from G3--G4-->intel.
