Try going to Users/username/library/preferences and locate the com.apple.finder prefs file and drag it out onto your desktop (don't trash it yet). Reboot and reset your finder preferences. Your problem will probably disappear. If it does then trash the old prefs file on your desktop. Please don't take this as 'gospel' but it's worth a try. Like I said, I 'think' it worked for me in the past when I had some finder issues. A sure way to test in advance if this will work would be to create another user account. If the finder problems are gone in that account, it's the prefs file that I mentioned above. Do what I said and feel free to delete the new account you created.
