Weren't they telling about a virus which later wasn't so dangerous? Company's try to sell their stuff. Not always exactly with a clean lie, but a little hasty. There's a little smoke, but it's not always a fire. They might think that overreacting is not a bad thing for sales. It's for safety isn't it.
