Lots of folks like to see things only in black and white. Thus Microsoft is bad, and so are all of their products. AV software companies are bad. Etc. Finding a Trojan Horse, even one that is only a concept, or one that turns out to have no significant distribution, and the inclusion of a definition in a company's AV software to defeat this malware is cause for a press release by an AV software company. Even a proof of concept can be used as a template to create a serious threat. A Trojan with no significant distribution can be released by its creator at a later date. An AV software company makes their money by selling AV software. They can't keep mum about what they are doing with their product. Users of their product expect them to be on top of everything that is going on with regard to malware. Press releases are how AV software companies make that known. ___________________________________________ Randy B.
