[X4U] Lost mail boxes

Good day,

My wife yesterday lost two of her mail boxes. She uses Mail 3.4 on  
10.5.4 on her Macbook 2.4.

I showed he where they were still stored on her ~Library/mail/personal/ 
debbie. My question is does she need to re-import the <debbie> folder  
or the <debbie> mbox?
Or should she rather rebuild her mail boxes?
