[X4U] Pixma Mystery Paper Jam

I bought a Cannon Pixma MX 700 multi-function printer/scanner/fax  
(thanks Randy for the recommendation).  It worked fine for a few  
printings, but now the LCD screen tells me that I have a paper jam.  I  
have opened up the printer according to the instructions and I can't  
find any paper in there at all.  I hope somebody here is familiar with  
the Cannon printers and can help me straighten this out because I need  
to print my boarding pass for my summer vacation.  I'll save waiting  
on the phone for tech support as a last resort.  Thanks.
