You need to open Console, then go to LOG FILES in the lefthand window, then go to /var/log, then go to daily.out or monthly.out or weekly.out. Here's my current daily.out that Anacron produced shortly after I turned on my iMac this morning: Thu Jan 8 09:40:06 PST 2009 Removing old log files: Removing old temporary files: Cleaning out old system announcements: Local system status: 9:40 up 5 mins, 1 user, load averages: 0.10 0.23 0.11 Removing scratch and junk files: Removing scratch fax files Checking subsystem status: disks: Filesystem 1024-blocks Used Available Capacity Mounted on /dev/disk0s2 278790144 104066876 174467268 38% / /dev/disk0s3 33445164 26971052 6474112 81% /Volumes/IMACXP /dev/disk2s2 488050672 368904916 119145756 76% /Volumes/ MiniStack500 /dev/disk1s3 390580272 192187816 198392456 50% /Volumes/ MiniStack400 Last dump(s) done (Dump '>' file systems): network: Name Mtu Network Address Ipkts Ierrs Opkts Oerrs Coll lo0 16384 <Link#1> 193 0 193 0 0 lo0 16384 localhost fe80::1 193 - 193 - - lo0 16384 127 localhost 193 - 193 - - lo0 16384 localhost ::1 193 - 193 - - gif0* 1280 <Link#2> 0 0 0 0 0 stf0* 1280 <Link#3> 0 0 0 0 0 en0 1500 <Link#4> 00:1b:63:a3:14:43 2587 0 2286 0 0 en0 1500 iMac24.loca fe80::21b:63ff:fe 2587 - 2286 - - en0 1500 (16)00:00:b3:ff:4f 2587 0 2286 0 0 en0 1500 192.168.1 iMac24 2587 - 2286 - - fw0 4078 <Link#5> 00:1d:4f:ff:fe:61:17:0a 0 0 0 0 0 en1 1500 <Link#6> 00:1c:b3:77:89:5c 0 0 0 0 0 -- End of daily output -- The beauty of Anacron is that I don't have to do anything. Anacron does it for me every time I turn on my iMac. Yes, I could go into Terminal and issue commands, but why should I have to learn how to do that and spend the time (if I remember) to do it, when Anacron automatically does it for me? What's the point of having a GUI (graphic user interface) if I have to acquire Deep Geek knowledge and skills to do a task that a simple GUI-installed utility will do for me? Unless it's proving I'm a geek ... which is unnecessary, at least for me. Jim
