[X4U] OT - webcam question

I've got cable broadband at home, connected to an Airport Extreme Base  
Station. Are there inexpensive standalone web cams that don't need a  
host computer, except for setup? Also, is a static IP necessary? I do  
run my own web server at work if I need someplace to upload an  
occasional snapshot/etc, to. I've got an elderly Mom and I'd like to  
be able to look in on her to make sure she is OK.
