It depends a lot on what you do with the nano: Playing video or some  
games and screen brightness are key determining factors. Also playing  
with the iPod in general and thus preventing the screen from turning  
itself off will reduce battery run time.

Some other factors can contribute as well but to a smaller degree, e.  
g. the format of the music stored.
