If all you want to copy is a single folder and its contents, why not  
just do the simplest thing? Drag the folder onto the "backup" hard  
drive and let the OS make the copy!!!

Now, stop all the arguing, Ed, and understand that the world is NOT  
going to change itself to suit you all the time.
