Yes you can. All I have is an Express for my wireless (actually two of  
them. I stuck a second in the basement as an extension to the first  
one and to allow my son to plug his xBox 360 into it. We use the  
wireless for our MacBook and iPod Touch. It was much cheeper than an  
actual Airport base station.
