[X4U] Comparing to external drives

I've been looking for a software solution that allows me to compare files and or directories on 2 external drives for either cleaning out or merging if possible.I had read about using the tools found in the Developer Kit:/Developer /Applications/Utilities File Merge but I can not get the contents from the second drive to show in the second column. It doesn't seem to matter which drive is in the right or left window.Both drives are formated as Mac OS Extended (journaled) and connected via firewire.TIA for any and all suggestions
