Thanks Rod. It shows 2 versions. J2SE 5.0 32 bit Ver 1.5.0_30-b03  and  
J2SE 1.4.2 52 bit ver 1.4.2_22.
5.0 is listed first. both are checked. 5.0 is first selected. Only  
other thing I noticed was in advanced. Do not start console is  
checked. Did not change anything. Still getting alert. I ran repair  
preferences and also preferential preferences.

Maybe I should have only one Java. But which one? I have restarted and  
also hard restart.
