I don't know what's happening, but I would try simply writing a disk
image to your hard drive. That way you can see exactly how large the
finished product is and use any number of burning programs to burn to
disk.
And just to double check, when you get a message that there is "not
enough space", are you sure its because of the DVD and not because
your hard drive doesn't have enough scratch space for the program to
"assemble" the disk before burning? If your DVD will have 3.7 GB of
material, you'll need at least 3.7 GB free on your hard drive and some
programs may require more than double the space (7.4 GB in this
example).
