[X4U] Knuckling up a WD external drive when it doesn't mount

Hello. 

My Western digital 1TB refused to boot, it just powered up, and died. It was my time machine.

I tried anything, except for trying from another machine.


I read this tip: http://mildlydiverting.blogspot.com/2009/11/western-digital-mystudio-failing-to.html And I tried it; I did give the drive some hard taps at its back. and it started working
again!
