thanks zane; yes it is 6.2.4; sorry. but the strange thing is that it _has_ been working just fine till these things broke and I can't restore the unbroken behavior. I am very fond of Eudora; quick, sleek, I keep a bunch of windows open (~15 mailboxes corresponding to different activities) and it never chokes; lots of good features. nice handling of attachments; lots of settings that I have come to appreciate. so it is great for my workflow.
