There is no mention of LG being owned by, or even doing business with  
Samsung here:

And while LG has alliances with just about everyone, a notable  
exception is Samsung:

In fact, both companies have made significant advancements recently  
in OLED displays for televisions, and they are fierce competitors,  
each blaming the other for stealing their trade secrets:
