[X4U] iMovie 11 and 24p

anyone here using iMovie with 24p?

I just loaded some 24p quicktime clips of mine..made in 3D, but now 100% quicktime clips..

in iMovie, in a new project made as 24p, 16:9, the clips do not play when I hit the space bar, but when I skim with the cursor, the "play" in that way.

anyone with a clue about what could be up with this?

8-core Xeon Mac Pro, so more than enough juice to play these clips. the same clips play fine in FCP!
