I recently did conduct an apple hardware test - no issues. Also had the machine in to an authorized repair center: no issues. I've created a new user, and within 10 minutes, observed the below: sometimes can go to a desktop with nothing in it, sometimes not. Finder assigned to desktop 1. control 1 won't get me there, but if select Finder from dock, desktop 1 slides in. Finder HAS open windows; I'm hitting Control-1 as in the top row of numbers, not keypad. re-assigning Finder to Desktop 5 makes it work, but I prefer my assignments to be followed. the keyboard commands to Switch to Desktop # are all enabled. can not insert a flag into the console. It was suggested that the console would provide some clues, which I don't see...but wanted to insert a flag to mark the beginning of my observations. thanks, cat -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
