Thanks ever so much for the responses, I had not thought about booting up from an external drive. In fact I think I could just pull my G4 HD, put it into an enclosure, upgrade it to Snow Leopard, Clone it to a "new" HD and be ready to roll. Thank Again to all responders Al Jones
