to just send the drive in for replacement and I use an external FW drive
on the Mac so the designer can keep working. When I have to send the whole
Mac in I have to dig out an old production Mac (G4/500DP) and boy do they
complain about the speed difference!!! ;-D</font>

The G4 in my past ended up with a new power supply and new logic board,
after 3 in-warranty hard disks had been chewed up. Thank goodness for AppleCare
on that machine. It’s not often the problem is that “deep”, but there
are times. Yours may be one.</font>
