<HTML><BODY style="word-wrap: break-word; -khtml-nbsp-mode: space; -khtml-line-break: after-white-space; "><DIV><BLOCKQUOTE type="cite"></BLOCKQUOTE></DIV><DIV>Here is the scoop: In the folder SystemConfiguration there are 4 plist files.</DIV><DIV><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></DIV><DIV><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande">com.apple.nat.plist</FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande">com.apple.PowerManagement.plist</FONT><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande"></FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande">NetworkInterfaces.plist</FONT><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande"></FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande">preferences.plist</FONT><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande"></FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande"><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande">After deleting them, I re-start the computer. At that point only one plist file is restored:</FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande"><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande">NetworkInterfaces.plist</FONT><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande"></FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande"><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande">When I open Safari it tells me that I am not connected to the Internet and then through a dialogue box it helps me find the existing connection, but that fails.</FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande">The second time around, I went into system preferences/network and recreated the connection myself.</FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande">At that point a new plist file: preferences is created in the folder <FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Helvetica">SystemConfiguration</FONT></FONT></DIV><DIV><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></DIV><DIV>Now we have two plist files:</DIV><DIV><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></DIV><DIV><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande">NetworkInterfaces.plist</FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande">preferences.plist</FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande"><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></FONT></DIV><DIV><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande">I start Safari and it crashes.</FONT></DIV><DIV><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></DIV><DIV><FONT class="Apple-style-span" face="Lucida Grande"><BR class="khtml-block-placeholder"></FONT></DIV></BODY></HTML>
