I made a back up DVD on a<BR>

Memorex Dual Layer DVD +R DL disc<BR>
<BR>
using the iMac.<BR>
<BR>
It is a total of 7.5 GB or so.<BR>

Your Macbook Pro should be able to make the backup.<BR>

Now THAT is interesting, because when I look in System Profiler, it says I have the same drive mechanism as you, but what it says for DVD writing is as follows:<BR>

Is it possible that firmware to permit burning in dual layer format was added in Leopard? (my MacBook Pro is still at 10.4.1).<BR>
