I heard this problem had to do with the constant plugging and 
unplugging of USB devices (go figure...); to my knowledge there is no 
such shortcut, but that same problem happens to me frequently (being a 
PowerBook user, I'm constantly plugging and unplugging a USB mouse, USB 
speakers, etc).
