Yes,  if user need a 100 ragne,  both devices must be able to support 100M
too.  for
lower end bluetooth USB adaptor even you may able to connect to your Couch
(smile)
the transmission rate (speed) will be seriously compromised because errors
correction will consume most of your CPU time and bandwidth.

For the 100 m range you need an adapter that is 100 m capable in the
other end, too, I think BT is a two way communication... I don't know
about any adapter that strong available for the Palm. ;-)
