I use the Novatel Merlin C201 card on my TiBook with SprintPCS 1xRTT
service. It's $80/month unlimited, and the card was free (actually a 100
percent rebate on the $175 price, except for tax, for signing up for the
required 12 month contract).

Somebody at Novatel wrote some scripts for OS X, but the card needs to be
configured on a Windows machine before you can use it on a Mac. I took it to
Circuit City, and they let me do that on one of their display notebooks.
Speed is supposedly around 112bps.
