If I see things correctly, Class 1 (300 ft) devices not only have
stronger emission power but also have greater reception sensitivity,
which allows them to communicate with Class 2 (30 ft; Class 3 is 3 feet,
or quite useless for there purposes ;) ) devices at a greater distance
than pure Class 2 would allow.

At here, if I leave the PowerBook (class 2 Acer dongle) standing next to
the PC in my office, I can't connect with any of the phones from the
bedroom (18 feet on a straight line, through 2 walls), but I can connect
to the PC (class 1 MSI module). The same happens when I take the
PowerBook to the bedroom; I can connect it to the PC, which is sharing
the cable modem connection.

Best,

Filipe
