The days of an operating system coming on 4 floppies is over and has been over for a decade. It's a paradigm shift: Ram and hard drives are cheap. Better to have a robust system that takes care of you (OS X), than to have a "simple" system that you can go and manipulate everything. Yes, I have capitulated and I feel better to have done so. I accept the fact that an OS is going to be 2 gigs in size. OS X has been very nice to me. I can't really go in and start tweaking like OS 6 on my SE, but I'm happy in a whole, different way!
