1.  Be careful with the GPS, ask for permission.  In my (limited)
experience:  no pilots allow during take off or landing; some
allow at cruising; some don't want GPS used at any time.  Is fun
to use cruising--I was puzzled until I remembered to convert
English and metric, then the GPS and the plane agreed nicely.

2.  sound-cancelling earphones, eg reviewed in NYTimes or Wall
Street Journal maybe a couple of weeks ago; or noise-blocking, eg
3 earbud earphones reviewed like yesterday or today (Dec 10 or Dec 11).
