But I don't use it as a constant-use drive, just a means for getting files from work to home and to store some of my favorite pics and movies. On occasion the screen darkens a bit with the warmth. In sustained use mine gets warm (not hot), but I haven't had any problems with it - the xtrememac case seems to dissipate heat well. I expect the neoprene and silicone cases would hold heat more. It also doesn't like sitting in the cold car in the winter. Linda SE Michigan
