Using an old monitor

Hi,

A friend of mine wants to sell a G3 but doesn't have a monitor to go 
with it. I'm going to bring it home for a test drive. I still have the 
old monitor that came with my old LC III. The cables on it are the old 
screw in type. Are there any adapter cables out there that you know of?

Also, she formatted, or wiped out the entire HD on it. Do I just put in 
my OSX CD to restart it and load the os onto it to get it up and running?
