Thanks Meg.  I have had Sprint for quite a while.  Will upgrade the service 
and get a different phone tomorrow as they are offering rebates.  I won't go 
for their "Vision" as that is about $10 more.  Their phones have the ability 
to connect to the laptop as a modem.  It's the wave of the future, looks 
like.  If I am visiting a friend who has only one phone line and her daughter 
is waiting around to get it for the computer, I can just plug into the good 
old clamshell!  Much obliged.  m jo
