If you put a foreign dvd in there it will; ask you if you want to change.  It tells you you have x amounts of times to change back and forth.

http://wormintheapple.gr/macdvd/ may have the answer to that .. I managed to
get my icebook 500 fixed, but it is a bit of a gamble / hassle ...  Best
hope is that the owner has not maxed out his 5 region code switches that are
allowed.
