Hi all, I just purchased for a discount an "Open Box" clamshell battery from MacMall made by BTI. I spoke with a sales rep on the phone, and he assured me "Open Box" meant that the product was opened but not used. I received the battery yesterday, but unfortunately it won't hold a charge or charge-up. My iBook says the battery is 0% and the power adapter glows green rather than the yellow which indicates charging. When I swap back my old battery, the laptop accurately reads percentage and charge. I'm running with Mac OS X, but I noticed something called "Battery Reset 2.0" for PowerBooks and iBooks at Apple's website. This app is apparently is used, among other purposes, for batteries that show up with a red "X" through it under OS 9. I'm guessing my battery would probably come up with a red "X" if I was using that OS, and now I'm debating if I should install OS 9 and run the program to see if it can revive the battery. I'm prepared to send the battery back, but I'd like to do some basic trouble-shooting on my end before throwing in the towel. Any other techniques list members have used to revive "new" batteries? Thanks, Jason
